The "Taubergießen" nature reserve is one of the largest nature reserves of the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg. Learn about this unique countryside from a fishing punt. The name "Taubergießen" originates from the watercourse of the same name in the northern part of the area.

  

"Taub" goes back to an old designation by fishermen for a nutrient-poor watercourse with low stocks of fish. "Gießen" is flowing water supplied by groundwater, which is particularly characteristic for the nature reserve.

 

 

Freiburg im Breisgau
You can reach Germany’s southernmost and sunniest large city within 30 minutes by car. Let yourself be enticed by the quite individual charm of the small city and get to know the town of alleyways and little brooks at the edge of the road.

  

Colmar
Colmar is the jewel casket among Alsace towns. The district located by the River Lauch is called "Little Venice" and is but one of the many sights that you can visit in Colmar’s beautiful old town. The distance between Rust and Colmar is 60 minutes by car.

 

 

Kaiserstuhl

At approximately 30km from the hotel, Kaiserstuhl with its volcanic rock and Germany’s warmest location rises above the Rhine Valley in the shape of a horseshoe. Anyone who does not try the sun-blessed Kaiserstühler wine is really missing something!

  

The Rhine

You can reach the River Rhine in a few minutes by car or by bicycle. Beautiful, level cycle paths and hiking trails lead along the Rhine. And on the opposite shore, Alsace awaits visitors with its picturesque villages.
